“I have been doing medical missions for over 25 years starting in the South Pacific Islands of Vanuatu.  I’ve made 20 trips to the Rain Forests of Honduras, 10 trips to the Langtang in Nepal that was devastated by the earthquake in 2015, pulled pigmy teeth working with the Baka tribe of Cameroon, visited natural disasters in Sri Lanka, Banda Ache, Haiti, Dominica and most recently have been focusing on the war torn Nuba Mountains of Sudan.”—Doc PJ

Jeffrey Bergeron, President

Born and raised on Boston’s South Shore, Jeffrey Bergeron first arrived in Breckenridge in the mid 1970s. He was part of a nomadic tribe of waiters and bartenders working Colorado winters and beach resorts in the summers.

In his late twenties he stumbled onto a career in the electronic media. What followed was a 30 year run on TV and radio – local, regional and national. Once computers progressed to a point where even monkeys could type, Jeffrey added writing to his resume. His columns are now featured in several newspapers and magazines. Height of Land Publications has released two books of his selected columns.

A long-time open space advocate, along with his wife Ellen Hollinshead, Jeffrey spearheaded a ballot initiative which earmarks .5% of sales tax to acquire and manage open space. The Breckenridge Open Space & Trails program has saved thousands of acres from development and provided many miles of recreational trails.

Jeffrey retired from the electronic media four years ago but continues to write. He spends his free time trying to keep up with his wife Ellen on skis and bikes.
